About National Taichung Theater

National Taichung Theater, in Xitun District, is one of Taiwan's three national performing arts venues. Pritzker Prize winner Toyo Ito designed it around a "Sound Cave" concept, with 58 curved walls and no columns. Inside are a large theater, a mid-size theater and a small studio theater, which host opera, concerts, dance and drama from Taiwan and abroad through the year. Visiting the building is free, so you can see the architecture even without a show ticket. Hours are 11:30 AM to 9:00 PM on Sundays and Tuesday to Thursday, and 11:30 AM to 10:00 PM on Fridays, Saturdays and national holidays. It is closed on Mondays. It is 5.0 km from Mr.Petter, about 14 minutes by car.
